Dungeon Defenders is a quirky little game where you defend your crystal core from hordes of enemies that will increasingly get stronger the farther in you get. You’re free to buy from a selection of DLC characters that have an array of abilities or skills that will set them apart when it comes to defeating the hordes of oncoming baddies. I honestly don’t have enough time logged onto this game as I want, because it has the potential to be tons of fun with friends. I particularly like the fact that this game has a tower defense aspect, but can be played in a third person or first person style, depending on what you prefer.

Dungeon Defenders is easy to learn and fun to master. You can play as a plethora of different characters, but I normally keep it simple and stick with the mage.  You place your turrets and the turrets go to work, but they are sentient and will be destroyed if you place them in a bad position.

The Trendy team (credited Developers of this title), did a good job with their difficulty leveling and the challenging levels are truly  challenging. I have a nearly max-level character on this game, with the best gear and pets you can have, and I still struggle on certain maps and difficulties! Also, THERE ARE PETS!!! Any game where you can have a griffin that flies around beside you and shoots fireballs at enemies is likely to be a good game!

I do wish this game didn’t make a sequel, or at least executed it properly, but that is a story for another review. I think the developers of this game could improve the hitbox detection a little, because I seem to see some stray bolts hitting me...directly in the face. I have to say though, there’s something a little off with the game, and I can’t really put my finger on it... I enjoy playing it and it is definitely a good game but there’s one little thing with the game that doesn’t click right. I mainly attribute my unease to their upgrading system.  The "carrot," as it were, never seems to be properly enjoyed -- no sooner than you upgrade your weapon to its max stat ---  boom -- along comes a different weapon that surpasses yours and now you need to upgrade to that one.  Can't I just be "all-powerful" for a few minutes?!  There are no real HUGE problems with this game.  And I particularly appreciate that it doesen't make your graphic processor/cpu redline right from the start.  It is quirky game and, truth be told, I do adore it. I’d give it a 5 out of 5 if I could, but the annoyances of the crafting and the hitboxes kinda force me to dock it a GG star -- so 4 out of 5 for me.  Plenty to enjoy however -- you can learn more here.
