Frozen Double Trouble

Frozen Double Trouble

Help Anna and Kristoff find Elsa by navigating your way through obstacles, gather objects, and getting to the finish line. This platform game would surely bring out the fun and adventure you’re looking for in a game.

Gameplay: Play as both Kristoff and Anna in alternating levels and enjoy the interesting a variety of game play strategies available in Frozen Double Trouble. Your goal is to scale the mountain while evading wolves and Arendelle's gaurds--both of which apparently have nothing better to do than eat you alive or beat you up. Luckily, Kristoff and Anna both have ways of evading enemies. With Anna, crouch behind Olaf or a rock to hide from enemies. You can also send cascades of snow down on enemies heads and stun them. I have to say though, I'm pretty sure Anna must give them a massive concussion or something because they stay stunned FOREVER. Be careful, Anna. With great power comes great responsiblity. Kristoff, on the other hand, is a mountian man so naturally he can use rope to scale the mountain to stay out of site. He can also use cracks in the mountain to climb to unseen platforms--a pretty cool talent, I'll admit.

Art/Music: The music is a bit too epic for strolling across ice platforms, but the larger-than-life soundtrack is pretty great if you don't pair it with the small jumps and crocus collecting this platformer calls for. Maybe if they'd toned it down somewhat, or saved the crescendos for when you neared an enemy like in other games, it would make more sense.

The art is soft and warm, and I'm a big fan of the backgrounds, but the animation is a bit stiff. The running animation is decent and fits with the controls, but the jumping animation--okay, it wasn't meant to be funny, but it's pretty hilarious. Both Anna and Kristoff basically just freeze in a really awkward midair half kick and then resume normal static animation once they hit the ground. It's not bad, it just reminds me a bit of a cardboard cut out. But hey! It made me laugh, so that's good.

This game was actually a lot of fun to play, even if I'd wished for a more satisfying ending, so it earns a 3.5 out of 5. Maybe more if the platform timing had been a bit better.
